Not Every Day

is a good day for photography. High of 98 and very high humidity. Other than some basic chores that have to get done, it looks like a stay inside day. Oh, darn – just might have to catch some of the U.S. Open!

How to Create a Photo Slideshow with Powerpoint

1. Choose a theme for the photo slideshow. Think first. Which topic do you want to focus on in the slideshow? It is for the summer vacation, for the kids, or for a special event? Do not include photos of different themes in a slideshow. That will make it hard to organize and will look out of place.
2. Pick qualified photos. Pick your favorite photos that follow the theme from your photo collection. Go to your photo collection, a lot of pictures are there. Mark every one that is suitable. Then pick photos with high quality.
3. Add background music to your slide shows. Do you have any wonderful music on you computer? Why not add perhaps a 10-15 second music clip in the middle of the slide show? The music clip can help break up the montage and is a great way to keep your audience’s interest. Make sure to choose music that can go with the slide show well and respect copyrights.
4. Add transitions to your slide shows. Good transitions are critical to high impact slideshows. They help tie the show together and make it flow smoothly from one idea to the next. Plus, transitions signal important ideas so your audience pays extra attention.
5. Create thumbnails for the photo slideshow. Thumbnails helps viewers locate a specific photo quickly and give more playback control in the viewers’ hands. If you have a big slideshow, you may need them more.
6. Share a PowerPoint slideshow online. To view a PowerPoint slideshow, you need to have the full version of PowerPoint or a free PowerPoint viewer. If you want to show it online, you have to convert the PowerPoint format to a web-friendly format such as flash. There are third party conversion tools that can convert PowerPoint files to Flash slideshows.

Life is not

all about photography! Taking some time this morning to play golf. Meeting a good friend in a few moments and enjoying nature whilst whacking a little white ball around 18 holes. Guaranteed to be a good time!

OH! Next time you have a chance take a look at my ETSY page. I changed my avatar there and think it works better. See what you think.
